Our mission is to provide a welcoming community for young Catholics to strengthen their faith, build meaningful friendships, and serve others with love and compassion. Through our various activities and events, we strive to create a space where young people can grow in their relationship with God and with each other.
 

If you are in grades 9-12, you are invited to join us for High School Youth Group! We gather every Wednesday (7-9:00 PM) to grow in faith & fellowship through scripture study, small groups, and shenanigans. These nights are a great way to get involved in your parish and meet teens from around DSM.

Now, I know that there are usually some hurdles that keep people from checking out a High School Youth Group night...allow me to ease some concerns.

"I have so many things to do. I can't commit to EVERY Wednesday!"
- No worries if you can't come every Wednesday! Missing a few evenings doesn't mean that you'll be totally lost when you show up for the next one. You can come to as many or as few gatherings as you would like, though we love to see your smiling faces, so the more the merrier. 

"None of my friends go, why should I go?"
- This was one of my biggest hold ups when I was trying to decide to go to Youth Group when I was in high school. I decided to drag a friend to youth group with me, and you are welcome to do the same (they don't have to go to St. Mary's and they don't even have to be Catholic!).
- I would also say that coming to High School youth Group is a great way to meet other young people that want to grow in faith, meet new friends, and ask questions. 

"Are we just going to sit around like we are in a classroom?"
- Absolutely not! There may be times when we read out of a book or learn something in a way that could be considered, "classroomy" but it will never be two solid hours of lecture or study. As teenagers and young adults it's important that we take active steps to mature in the faith by learning more, but that doesn't mean it has to be boring. 

Young Church - you are called to be Saints! Encourage each other to grow in virtue and holiness. I know that that's hard to do, but Jesus, your parents, and your friends are here to help you. This is your formal invite to join High School Youth Group!
