And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. ~ Acts 2:42
At St. Mary of Nazareth, Sacramental Prep for First Reconciliation and First Communion is the focus of Catechesis in the Second Grade. Taking a year outside of the normal family formation cycle, second grade students attend sacramental prep meetings weekly leading up to receiving each respective sacrament. In addition to class time, there is also a First Reconciliation Workshop in winter and First Communion Retreat in the spring. Sacraments are very special moments filled with grace, and we look forward to accompanying your child in their journey towards receiving these life-changing sacraments for the first time!
If you are a new member of St. Mary of Nazareth, please submit copies of baptismal certificates for each child with the completed registration form.
If you have a child entering 1st grade, make sure you register them for 1st grade Family Faith Formation. Without 1st grade prep, your child will not be able to make their First Reconciliation & First Communion in 2nd grade.
If your student has passed 2nd grade and has not yet received 1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion, reach out to the Faith Formation office and we will develop a plan for your child to receive their sacraments!
