Why do people love adoration?

Eucharistic Adoration is an opportunity to come and sit with Jesus, open your heart and allow God the opportunity to work in your heart uninterrupted.
“Without prolonged moments of adoration, of prayerful encounter with the word, of sincere conversation with the Lord, our work easily becomes meaningless; we lose energy as a result of weariness and difficulties, and our fervour dies out. The Church urgently needs the deep breath of prayer, and to my great joy groups devoted to prayer and intercession, the prayerful reading of God’s word and the perpetual adoration of the Eucharist are growing at every level of ecclesial life.”

Take time just to sit in Jesus' presence - recognizing who He is hidden under the appearnace of bread & wine, telling Him about your day, how you feel and what's on your heart. Begin by declaring yourself open.
Some examples:- God, if you are real, let me know.
- Lord, I am open to your real presence in the Eucharist: body, blood, soul, divinity, your saving work. Help me grow in that understanding and be open to what it means for my life.
- Lord, I am open to personal and spiritual change.
- Jesus, help me grow closer to you as your disciple. I am open to following you as you call me to follow you.
Relationships involve both speaking and listening. Some ways you can meditate to hear Jesus' heart speak to yours could be:
- Reading a passage from the Bible, the catechism or other church teaching, a writing from a saint, or other spiritual reading. (Our library has many great titles!)
- Examine your life - be it this day, week, month, year. Pay attention to how God communicates with you and what he reveals or points out about your life during your reflection.
- Pray the rosary, including meditation upon the mysteries of Jesus' & Mary's life.
In all things, give thanks!- Not just for this particular time of adoration, but for particular graces you received during this time of prayer, specific gifts in your life at this time, answers to prayers, and His presence when you need Him!
- Pray for others - all who have asked us to pray, those we have met this day or past week, or even ask God: "For whom or what shall I pray?" As Blessed Solanus Casey reminds us, "Thank God ahead of time!".
