Men's Club

The men’s club provides an opportunity for the men of the parish to participate in an organization that, through fellowship and fundraising, supports the needs of the parish. 

MEETINGS
The men’s club meets once a month on the 3^rd Monday of the month in the fireplace room.  A meal is served prior to the meeting to go over club business.  After the meeting enjoy a game of cards, the game on the big screen TV, or just socialize with your friends. 

FUNDRAISERS
 

• Parish Golf Outing-Everyone is invited to participate in the parish golf outing.  18 holes of golf with friends and fellow parishioners are followed by a GREAT meal back at the parish center.

 

• Spaghetti Dinner-A Night to Remember!! A fabulous spaghetti dinner is served with a spectacular salad and spumoni ice cream in a setting equal to a fine restaurant.  The atmosphere allows people to sit, visit, and enjoy a relaxing evening. 

 

• Gift Cards-Grocery gift cards to Fareway, Price Chopper, and HyVee are sold after Masses on Sunday.  You receive the face value of the card at the stores and the men’s club receives a percentage from the stores.  Everyone is a WINNER.

 

• Pork Chop Dinner-Another great night out for couples and/or families.  A GREAT Iowa Pork Chop dinner is served in a relaxing atmosphere of the parish hall.

ACTIVITIES
 

• St. Vincent De Paul collection day.  The men park a truck in the parking lot and parishioners are invited to make donations of clothes, furniture, toys etc. for a good cause.

 

• Homeless Shelter food-the men’s club is in the rotation to provide food for the homeless shelter

 

• The Men’s Club provides the funds for the beverages at the St Mary’s Auction.

 

• Other duties as assigned

 
DONATIONS
 
The men’s club purchases items for the parish based on requests from Father.  Some of the purchases have included:
 

• Big Screen TV located in the Fire Place Room.

 

• A floor scrubber machine for the church

 

• Collection Baskets

 

• Roasters for the kitchen.

 

• Big Screen TV’s in the church used for messaging

 

• Lead project to install the Digital Display Sign located near Meredith Drive

 

• Tables & Chairs in the Parish Hall

 

• Ice Machine in Kitchen

 

• Parking lot cleaning machine

 

• Collection Baskets

 

• New robes for Altar Servers

 

• Contribution to Habitat for Humanity

The men’s club also donates to other parish causes such as the youth group.  Upon request, donations are made outside the parish i.e. seminarians etc.
