Activities at Home:
HIGHLY RECOMMEND:
Day of Prayer for the Protection of Unborn Children (p. 122) – a couple of options from the website are included in your handouts
Car Conversations (p. 125) – the car is also a good place to pray each day
Give Us This Day (p. 129) – in addition to or in place of the worksheet, create a prayer box to ask God for our needs
Lead Us Not Into Temptation (p. 135)
Deliver Us from Evil (p. 137) – the options from the website are included in your handouts
Last Four Petitions Match (p. 139) - instead of just matching the paper strips from the book, use the cardstock strips for durability, mix them randomly, flip them over and play as a matching/memory game.
My Holy Spirit Prayer (p. 151) - set a family journal time when everyone spends 5 minutes writing.
RECOMMEND:
Forgive Us Our Trespasses (p. 132) – acting out one or both of the stories could be especially fun with scarves to dress up in, however, this might have been done in the breakout session and focusing on the prodigal son might be a better choice for younger children
Bonus Activity Joseph’s Story (p. 134) – a movie night is a fun way to incorporate faith into an everyday activity. Use caution with younger children; the story is animated, but still tells of Joseph being sold into slavery by his brothers
Father Care for Us (p. 75) - use a sheets of drawing paper or large notecards and attach to the prayer board (this activity might be done in the breakout session).
Mary the Mother of God (p. 141)
When Do We Receive the Holy Spirit? (p. 145) – (this activity might be done in the breakout session)
The Holy Spirit Prepares Us for Jesus (p. 147) – remove the page from your activity book and hang it on your prayer board after discussing the art (this activity might be done in the breakout session)
Fruits of the Holy Spirit (p. 149)
Come Holy Spirit Flame (p. 152) – (this activity might be done in the breakout session)
St. John Bosco (p. 154)
