CCOF Habitat for Humanity Home

St. Mary’s has united with eight parishes in the Catholic Circle of Faith (CCOF). The CCOF is a coalition of parishes collaborating to provide prayer, financial and volunteer support toward building a Greater Des Moines Habitat home each year.

This year’s build is a split-level plan with three bedrooms and 1 bathroom located at 1343 McCormick, Des Moines, IA 50316. You can meet the future homeowners at Our Habitat Family or view the house plans here.

St. Mary’s is committed to raising $3,900 by August 31st for the 2017 Habitat home. To help us reach this goal, you can:

  1. Make an on-line contribution by clicking on the Donate button below
  2. Provide an in-kind donation of supplies or specialty services. Please complete the Habitat Gift In-Kind Form to ensure your gift will meet the needs for a Habitat home.
  3. Write a check to St. Mary of Nazareth and note it is for CCOF Habitat for Humanity.
  4. Support a parish fund raising opportunity:
    1. Buy a grocery gift card from the Men’s Club in June, July or August
    2. “Get on Board” by donating to sign a 2×6 board in the Gathering Space after masses on July 16th/17th and 23rd/24th
    3. Attend the Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast on Sunday, August 27th

Many volunteers are needed at the build site from September through mid-November. St. Mary’s will have volunteers on Wednesday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 23. Additional details on volunteering are below, but you can reserve your spot for one of these dates or another date that works for you by clicking here: Sign-Up Now!

Finally, please PRAY! We all know prayer can be extremely powerful and it will certainly be a critical factor for success of this project.

If you have questions or would like to join the St. Mary’s CCOF Habitat Planning Committee, contact Nick Gehl at stmaryshabitat@gmail.com or 515-444-3883.
