The Faith Formation office is pleased to announce that our Children’s Liturgy is for 3, 4 and 5-year old children who are comfortable being away from their parents and siblings for a short period of time. The leader for Children’s Liturgy of the Word is Marilynn Wellman.
Due to limited space, we ask that no parents or siblings attend with their child. We understand if you would like to walk them back for the first class to get them used to it, but after that we ask that you remain in mass. Children need to be age 3 by September 1st of this year.
Children’s Liturgy takes place during the Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass only. Your child will go with you into church and will be dismissed by Father just after the opening prayer – also watch Marilynn as a signal that it is time to go. We will also post a YELLOW SIGN that says “Children’s Liturgy Today” on the bulletin board just as you go into church so you will know for sure that we are having class. If you don’t see the YELLOW SIGN, please do not send your child out. Please make sure that your child is aware of where you are seated in the church so they know where to go when we return, which is just after the Prayers of the Faithful. Also, please watch for them as we are coming back in. During our class time we sing songs, learn a Bible story and read the gospel for the week but on a child’s level.
Our first class will be September 17th!! Most families will receive a formal invitation letter sometime next week, but we wanted to make sure we go the word out to all!!
If you are interested in enrolling your child, please contact Bridget Brass in the Faith Formation office at 515-276-7589 or firstname.lastname@example.org. There is no fee.
