Thanksgiving Day Mass

Happy Thanksgiving to our parish!!  Father Greg will have Thanksgiving Day Mass at 9am on Thanksgiving Day.  There is a lay ministry sign up sheet in the Gathering Area if you wish to participate.  All offices will be closed next Thursday and Friday.

Join other parishioners on Saturdays in Advent to read and share the Sunday Mass readings. No preparation necessary. Just come…experience the beauty and peace of God’s Word and the connection with other parishioners. You do not need to commit to come to all four, just come when you can! The meetings will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the church on November 28th, December 5th, December 12th, and December 19th.

Youth Retreat

Please encourage your teen to attend our yearly retreat. This will be December 4-6 at St. Mary’s. These teens are so stressed and burdened by the busyness of their schedules, school, activities, and so much noise. I pray that you seriously consider this opportunity & encourage your teens to attend. It’s always a great opportunity to get away from all of that for a couple of days, and it really changes the lives of those that attend. Please contact Maggie Schopp for details and a registration form. (maggies@stmarysdsm.org or 515-251-7568)

St. Mary of Nazareth Christmas Pageant

Our annual Christmas pageant will take place on Sunday, December 6th at 12:30 pm after the 11:00am Mass. We still have several openings for parts in the pageant, including the angel Gabriel, one reader, two greeters, several angels and several shepherds. If your son/daughter is interested, please contact Bridget Brass at bridgetb@stmarysdsm.org or 515-276-7589.

Annual Winter Wear/Coat Drive Collection

St. Mary of Nazareth’s Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring a collection effort from November 7th through December 19th for those less fortunate. There will be a box in the back of the church for new or gently used winter clothing – coats, hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, hooded sweatshirts, etc. Men, women or children’s items are welcome. We thank you for your support of one of our greatest objectives – CHARITY!

Fall Blood Drive

On Monday, November 30, 2015 St. Mary of Nazareth and Zion Lutheran Church are co-sponsoring a blood drive to be held in the St. Mary of Nazareth Parish Hall. The drive will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Blood donors are needed to help make the drive a success. The St. Mary of Nazareth parish has had many very successful drives in the past, and we hope this drive will be just as successful. The need for the blood is great and to donate is performing a very Christian service for the community. If you wish to donate please contact David Miller at 270-1897 to schedule an appointment.
